I have always lived in a chaotic animal household, having owned a variety of pets including dogs, cats, horses and even bearded dragons! I know what its like to want the best for your animal, and became aware of Veterinary Physiotherapy after seeking out treatment for my own horses as a teenager. After seeing the massive difference in my animals, I was hooked and knew I wanted to help animals in the same way, so pursued a degree and graduated with an Integrated Masters in Veterinary Physiotherapy!

I feel privaleged to help a variety of animals in different ways, whether it is to help the golden oldies find their spark again, the athletes become stronger or rehabilitate from musculoskeletal or neurological conditions, it is very rewarding to help you in every way that I can to promote the wellness of your pet!

In particular, I have a very strong belief in being Proactive rather than reactive, taking a collaborative approach in targgetting small issues before they become bigger ones, hence the business name Proactive Veterinary Physiotherapy was born!

This ideology is often coined as ‘Prehabilitation’, whereby noticing small changes and asymmetries in movement and musculoskeletal health, then applying targeted treatment and exercises, this can help prevent injuries from occurring in the first place, allowing your animal to enjoy a more comfortable life and able to enjoy the activities they love!

What Is Veterinary Physiotherapy?

Veterinary physiotherapy is a science-based profession that focuses on improving movement, reducing pain and supporting recovery through a variety of manual therapies, therapeutic exercises and rehabilitation techniques such as the use of electrotherapies. Through targeted treatment based on your animals medical history and our assessment findings, this can help to maintain strength, flexibility, promote range of motion and optimise gait patterns.

Physiotherapy can help animals experiencing:

  • Orthopaedic injuries

  • Neurological conditions

  • Arthritis and age-related mobility changes

  • Post-operative recovery

  • Soft tissue injuries

  • Sporting or performance-related issues, or to generally promote performance in healthy animals

  • General stiffness or reduced mobility
